On Saturday, October 11th, we will have a Stop Hunger Now Pack in the church fellowship hall from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Stop Hunger Now is a global humanitarian aid organization that has been fulfilling its commitment to end hunger since 1998. Every year, Stop Hunger Now provides millions of nutritious meals and other life-saving aid to children and families all over the world. Stop Hunger Now collaborates with existing development efforts in vulnerable communities to provide meals to places such as schools, orphanages, nurseries and medical clinics.
Stop Hunger Now started its meal packaging program in 2005. Each six-serving bag produced by Stop Hunger Now volunteers includes rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables and a flavoring mix with 21 essential vitamins and minerals. Each meal costs only 29 cents and has a shelf life of two years. I hope everyone can come out and help support this important ministry!
On Sunday, October 12th, we will have our deacon election during the worship service. Following the worship service, we will have a covered dish luncheon in the fellowship hall. Bring your famous covered dish and a big appetite!

The bus will leave the parking lot at 1:00 p.m. and return at 5:00 p.m. I encourage everyone to come, even if you need to come by late or leave early. The address to White Fall Farm is 6001 Riceville Road Gretna, VA 24557. The cost is $10 for each person. The admission price includes a $3.00 voucher for each person that can be used towards pumpkin purchases or activities.

The Mission Friends, Children in Action and Youth will be we visiting the shut ins at 6 p.m. They always love to see the children so it is such a treat for them when we come to visit. Please bring a small gift such as fruit, cards, candy, or flowers to give to each shut in. We will probably visit about 8 shut ins.
